Designed in 1952 by Egon Eiermann, the SE18 is one of the most celebrated folding chairs in design history. Its ingenious construction allows it to fold completely flat while maintaining the comfort and elegance of a full dining chair — a feat of engineering and aesthetic refinement that earned it the Good Design Award at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1953, and a silver medal at the Triennale in Milan in 1954.
