A large dome of handblown Czech glass with a frosted finish rests atop a custom base made of vertical solid brass plates. A brass ring fits onto the base as a seat for the glass dome. Imposing in size, it can work on large furniture, or the floor, depending on the decor. While large, the softness of the frosted glass and minimal presence of the base make it approachable and compelling.

The dining chair that proves its worth. During and after dinner.

We no longer ‘withdraw’ to the sitting room once dinner is over. With open-plan kitchens, the likelihood is that you remain seated at the dining table after a meal, so the dining chair has to be extra comfortable, and strike the right balance between functionality, comfort and aesthetics. Like the Dosina clam, the chair has an easily recognisable, fan-shaped silhouette, which emphasises the high level of comfort with its broad, embracing back.

With its simple design and despite its solid, broad back, the chair has a light and inviting feel, even when used in large numbers around an extended dining or conference table. The chair is stackable, so it’s easy to keep an extra few chairs to hand as they will not take up much space.

The Elements Table designed by Shin Azumi is a continuation of the Elements series that started with the now iconic Elements Coat Stand. It is a square, compact dining table for cafes and restaurants as well as sheltered balconies in the home. Functional and sculptural, the Elements Table shows that even the most utilitarian typology of furniture can be redesigned in an artful way.

This coat stand is a functional sculpture in a house. The construction elements are made of one type of timber in different lengths. As they are jointed together in different places with various angles and directions, the object changes its character according to the side where it is looked at. The design has the face side which hangs more clothes and the back side with less hanging space which is designed to be facing the wall.
