The Greek philosopher Socrates urged young people to look at themselves in mirrors so that, if they were beautiful, they would become worthy of their beauty. The Beauty Mirror takes inspiration from those ancient polished surfaces, offering a reflective image with a golden glow. This mirror challenges the notion of what a true reflection is, both in terms of consistency and colour.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS Polished Brass: As the item is unlacquered it will naturally oxidise and darken. Upon touching the items without gloves, fingerprints are likely to occur and leave marks. Use a good quality brass cleaning liquid and follow the product instructions using the extra soft dust cloth. Do not apply pressure on persistent marks. Remove them using repeated gentle motions and by reapplying the brass cleaning liquid. Plated Finish: Use a lightly damp soft dust cloth and gently go over marks until clean. Dry it afterwards with a soft dust cloth.

The upholstered variant of this hardworking seat features soft cushioning on the seat only, or seat and back. Cushions are secured in place by concealed metal clips to the back and screws to the base and upholstery is Alle by Ronan Bouroullec from Kvadrat. The slim cushions do not interrupt the seamless profile of the chair.
Plywood sides give strength, reduce bulk and add simplicity to the construction, whilst a solid pine seat and back adds durability. Vaarnii plywood features an exaggerated grain, producing a visually intoxicating super-pine aesthetic.
The Maasto Chair in Black features a deep black stain, unique to Vaarnii, through which pine's distinctive grain remains pleasingly visible.
