DESIGN: Sebastian Herkner for Pulpo.

Sending hazy transparencies and rippled waves across your interior universe comes the stellar range of pendant lights. Inspired by the intergalactic, Sebastian Herkner has used repetition in pattern and geometric sensibility to creat a collection bordering on the unidentified. Like seeing the night skies brightest through a telescope, stellar´s soft glow requires closer inspection to see its detailed surface. Appearing like deep ravines on the moons surface, its handblown glass form reveals a semi-sphere full of curved ridges. Frosted acetate is added to its smooth opposite, creating a warming glow.

MATERIALS:

Handblown glass, coloured.

PROCESS:

Each piece is created from uncoloured or coloured, partly-sand-blasted, handblown glass. Bubbles, streaks and other variations in size and colour are part of the production process, and not defects of the design or production.

Multifunctional stool V.JS.01, designed by industrial designer Johan Skoogh, is a flexible piece of furniture with many possible functions: stool, side table, pedestal and work surface. The focus of the furniture is on the meeting of the top and base – with a visible dovetail joint.
The stool is made exclusively of solid Swedish pine. Can be purchased untreated or treated with natural linseed oil.

Double-sided vessels composed of tapering conical shapes joined together at their narrowest points. Using moulds to blow the individual glass shapes allows careful control over the exact sizes and proportions of the finished piece. Each half of each unique Taper Vessel is a different transparent color, and the color palette of the entire collection carefully repeats itself to insure multiple vessels always work together as a composition. Each end is open so that the vessels are entirely functional and reversible – the open ends are cut and finish polished. Five unique shapes, colors available only as shown. All glass dimensions are approximate – handblown glass dimensions vary by nature and intent. Made in the Czech Republic.

This piece is assembled from four stainless steel parts. The three shelves pierce the curved sheet. The tension in the curved sheet is locked by the shelves, which makes up a solid connection between the different parts. Due to its shape, it is functional from all four sides.

The Tokio desk lamp was introduced back in 1980 by Shigeaki Asahara and is now relaunched by Please Wait to be Seated. Asahara has an eye for the classic and elegant yet with great sense of functionality and flexibility. While the desk lamp has preserved its essense it has entered a contemporary universe wherein it has been slightly challenged on its rigorous idiom to shake things up a bit. Beside from enabling dimming the intensity of the LED light the spherical dimmer ball allows the user to get tangible. The colourful trivets might just be one of the most iconic images that Muller Van Severen have created in their celebrated career. With Trivets, the design couple reinterpreted a simple kitchen tool by positioning it against the wall as a piece of art. Today, they redraw the composition. The new collection of Trivets consists of five simple circles in pastels and bright hues creating a colourful yet minimalistic composition of concentric rounds. Consider it a bangle for the kitchen wall. An all-black set is also available. These circular Trivets can also be combined with the original rectangular Trivets. “Don’t discard the old, add to it”, is what the designers are essentially saying. These Trivets act as a symbol of mix-and-match and a carefree cuisine.

Calligraphic forms, bold colors, fine materials and craft techniques. The new TRN collection
of Pani Jurek is a homage to the art of Jan Tarasin.

A fascination with Jan Tarasin paintings and graphics was a starting point for the creation of the whole collection. Tarasin was interested in the world of objects. He began with realistic record objects that he simplified and reduced until a system of abstract signs was formed. In her latest collection, Pani Jurek reverses this process, turning ideograms into things again. Her three dimensional objects have a simple calligraphic form so they can play and talk together as if they were letters from a non-existent alphabet.

Looking for the form of an object, placing things in the space or building the relation between
them, is all “visual thinking” to me. I am also a painter by education and picture thinker. I believe we all are. Furnishing the apartment or setting the table, more or less consciously, means that everyday we are creating an infinite number of compositions, that all refer to our sense of harmony and proportion - Magda Jurek

There are 5 models of side tables in the collection, 4 types of mirrors and ceramic lighting fixtures, whose single elements can be arranged into the compositions. The hand crafted process of glazing ceramics and furniture making gives the collection a truly unique character. Each piece is one of a kind.

The furniture is made in cooperation with Square Drop, conservative lab and bespoke furniture studio. Hand crafted in solid ash wood, with traditional cabinet making techniques, the furniture is wood stained and covered with natural wax. Ceramic lighting fixtures are finished with brass elements.

The collection is made for residential and commercial spaces. Objects can be arrange together like blocks of a puzzle, but, due to their sculptured look, they also suit perfectly as single accent pieces in a private apartment.
