The Lobe celebrates the poetry of mechanics, articulating the rotational difference of three irregular, ovular-shaped cylinders. As the cylinders are stacked and offset from one another, they each appear to convey angular momentum arriving at a halt; the resulting composition in each fixture is ever-changing when viewed from different perspectives.

StudioVisser & Meijwaard describe their conception of lyn as a “graphic interplay between glass and the metal frameworks”. The doorless and diverse series of cabinets and high boards are equivalent to the designers’ ambition to rethink established forms, like they did in their past as fashion designers. The reduction to the absolute essential form opens a free interplay of material and colour. Depending on the lighting conditions, the viewer’s perspective and arrangement it casts the utmost of diverse highlights.

Magma is all about contrast. Smooth against rough. Light against dark. Angled lines against soft curves. Much like its namesake, the magma series of table lamps appear as if they have emerged from deep within the earth´s centre, topped with a light touch of illumination. Each piece is created from frosted and coloured handblown glass. The base is handmade from ceramic, and applied with a fat lava glaze. Bubbles, streaks and other variations in size and colour are part of production processes, and not defects in the design or production.

From its earthy base to floating illuminated top, magma pulls the elements together into one sculptural centrepiece. An oblong shaped handblown glass globe shines softly onto the strong, angular ceramic base below; who's fat lava glaze bubbles and streaks to reveal its own unique character.

PROCESS:

Each piece is created from frosted and coloured handblown glass. The base is handmade from ceramic, and applied with a fat lava glaze. Bubbles, streaks and other variations in size and colour are part of production processes, and not defects in the design or production.
