Bent presents all that is beautiful about glass, illuminated atop a simple frame. The fluidity, transparency and pattern of glass locked into an intriguing abstract form. Perhaps his most loved material; designer Sebastian Herkner has again stretched the capabilities of glass production into a series of sculptural lamps. The bent series utilises simple fluted glass panels, pushing and pulling the still fluid forms into flared and curved shapes. The unique pattern of the thin flutes throughout the panel creates a shield of light, the LED light source within spreading across their glass form. Presented simply stop a black steel frame, these mesmerising glass panels take centre stage.

PROCESS:

Each piece is created from casted and coloured glass sheet, slumped into form. Bubbles, streaks and other variations in size and colour are part of production processes, and not defects in the design or production. The stand and base are produced from powder coated steel.

MATERIALS:

Casted glass and powder coated steel.
