DESIGN: Anderssen & Voll.

With the Zabu chair, Anderssen & Voll were seeking to create a comfortable lounge chair where a dynamic, laidback and transparent, wooden construction would play the main role. The gesture and the detailing of the cushions are inspired by the Zabuton, a traditional Japanese floor cushion. The belts supporting the cushions are on display along the front and back bars of the seat. Together they create an ornamental rhythm that explains the structure.

The Elements Table designed by Shin Azumi is a continuation of the Elements series that started with the now iconic Elements Coat Stand. It is a square, compact dining table for cafes and restaurants as well as sheltered balconies in the home. Functional and sculptural, the Elements Table shows that even the most utilitarian typology of furniture can be redesigned in an artful way.

Even when not in use, its expansive background panel invites creative use of color. Available as individual shelf units, multiple units can be mounted on a rail to form a multi-level shelving system. Both single and multiple shelves require only two screws for wall mounting.

The V.MC.01 sofa is designed by Mia Cullin for Verk — a comfortable wooden sofa that is slightly traditional from the front, but a breath of fresh air from the back. A standalone piece that makes an impact in any room, yet remains flexible thanks to its calm, natural materials and colour tones. Crafted exclusively from solid Swedish pine or oak, with six cushions in ecologically tanned Swedish leather or split suede, stuffed with Swedish texel wool. Zero superfluity. Quality through and through.

What makes it unique is its seat cushion construction: the cushions are strung over a sturdy glulam frame, giving the impression that they float above the exterior structure. The absence of an external supporting frame at the ends and back gives the sofa an airy, spontaneous expression that is unlike anything else in the Verk collection.
