The Ast Stool by Dimitri Bähler for Vaarnii is characterised by an unpretentious design that bridges the rustic and the modern. Thick, sturdy pieces of pinewood are joined with quiet confidence — the only decorations being gently rounded edges and the knots and lively grain that are the hallmark of Finnish pine. The name Ast is German for 'branch', a nod to the knots that celebrate this often-overlooked material. Beyond seating, Ast works equally well as a nightstand or side table.

Made in Finland from sustainably sourced Finnish pine.
