DESIGN: Max Lamb
The Lounge Chair by Max Lamb is a tough piece of furniture. Yet a hard-as-nails first impression soon gives way to a visual softness and physical comfort. Lamb explains that he began by investigating pine; how it is grown, sawn, received, sold. His approach thereafter was logical; choosing off-the-shelf sections of wood and piecing them together to create a large surface area and logical form. Material is scooped out of the building block-like forms to make two ample convex recesses, revealing the characterful grain within. The result is a strikingly singular chair ‘mathematical in its approach and transparent in its construction’ says Lamb.
CHARACTERISTICS.
Pine gets better with age. The colours mature to a deeper palette. The heartwood and sapwood age at different speeds and bring out the natural patterns of the grains. After a few years, pine will settle into a rich and complex honey tone Pine is a soft wood and will get dents and bruises over the years. But don’t think of them as blemishes or flaws. Embrace them. They’re evidence of life lived and furniture loved. Pine isn’t life-proof. It’s proof of life. All our products are locally made by select Finnish makers and specialists. Every pine tree is harvested from sustainably managed Finnish forests. The wood is hand-selected of the highest quality and each piece has its own unique colours and grain patterns.

Bar stools are often placed so they are viewed from behind. The designers behind Tools® embraced this idea to achieve the Yuuga bar stool. Many bar stools have the same shape on the outside as on the inner surface where one sits, but Yuuga has a hard surface on the outside in the form of 3D moulded oak veneer, and a soft inner side of moulded foam under leather upholstery.
The 3D moulded veneer gives the stool a beautiful curved, well-conceived back. And the soft inner surface makes the chair comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. In other words, Yuuga has an organic shape on the outside and a soft inner surface like the Asian clam of the same name. The stool is designed with minimised dimensions to provide ample space around the table

The Plié Sideboard is part of the 2019 German Design Awards-winning Plié shelving system that offers simple solutions for organising, displaying and storing your belongings.
Designed by Cesare Bizzotto and Tobias Nitsche, the Sideboard uses the least amount of powder-coated aluminium possible which, folded, results in a lightweight, yet highly robust structure. This unit can be assembled with only a handful of components.
The Sideboard can function like a frame for showcasing items, but may also serve as a smaller bookcase, or as a triple shelf console. Use it to highlight your ceramics, flowers, or even vinyls.DIMENSIONS.
