- Floor-lamp format: A striking vertical accent for living spaces.
- Small size: A more compact option within the Han floor-lamp range.
SPECIFICATIONS

ABOUT THE BRAND
Founded in 2013, Parachilna continues the Riera family’s lighting legacy, which began in the 1930s with Metalarte, a pioneer of Spanish design that supported emerging talents including André Ricard, Antoni Arola and Jaime Hayon. Three generations later, the brand brings fresh energy to that heritage through craftsmanship, innovation and design culture. It collaborates with designers and artisans who challenge convention, blending tradition and experimentation to create lighting that explores emotion, material and meaning, with a timeless yet forward-looking character.

The 018 Hoop Table Lamp by John Tree for Vaarnii is about reduction of form and an unambiguous use of quality pine wood. Hefty solid pine and fine veneer contrast and combine: the solid wood base is a naturally robust anchor, holding everything firmly in place, while a minimal band of pine veneer serves as a shade, softly filtering light. Each lamp base begins as a knot-free block of solid timber, carefully machined to accommodate and conceal electrical components. Every shade is made from high-quality pine veneer purposefully cut to reveal a lively and characterful grain. The 1001 Hans Pendant Light is Vaarnii's re-engineering of an iconic 1960s design by Hans-Agne Jakobsson. The warm glow of light filtering through pine veneer, combined with an unexpectedly graphic and elemental form, is the enduring appeal of Jakobsson's work. When Vaarnii began exploring pine in lighting design, it quickly became clear that these classic designs could not be bettered. Pine is used efficiently: its tone and grain are employed to maximum effect, projecting material mass while boasting actual lightness. Solid Finnish pine supports circular strips of high-quality pine veneer, reintroducing this classic 20th-century design to the market after decades of absence.

The 1002 Hans Pendant Light XL is Vaarnii's super-sized re-engineering of Hans-Agne Jakobsson's iconic 1960s design. After re-engineering the original Hans pendants, Vaarnii understood that the design's innovative lightweight construction could be extended even further. The 1002 XL uses the same concentric circles of veneer and sophisticated interior structure of solid Finnish pine as its smaller siblings — but tests the limits of lighting manufacture with its scale. At 70 cm wide, it brings maximum impact to interior spaces with its brutal scale and metres of finest pine veneer. More softly filtered light, more pine surface, more imposing.
